Dr. Juli Rowlett, DVM, MS
Dr. Juli Rowlett earned her Master’s degree in Reproductive Biology in Animal Science from the University of Illinois in 2004. Driven by a deep passion for veterinary medicine, she went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011, finishing her clinical training at a U.S. affiliate veterinary school.
Following graduation, Dr. Rowlett began her career at a mixed animal hospital in southern Illinois, where she gained broad experience providing ambulatory care, surgery, wellness, and emergency services. In 2012, she relocated to the Chicagoland area and joined a multi-doctor, AAHA-accredited corporate small animal practice. Her leadership and dedication to quality care led to her promotion to Medical Director in 2016. Over the next decade, she helped grow the practice into a thriving hospital known for excellence in medicine, client service, and team culture.
As Medical Director, Dr. Rowlett has been instrumental in mentoring new veterinarians, supporting the growth of seasoned doctors, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and gold-standard care. She leads by example—setting high expectations for medical quality, client communication, and staff collaboration. Her responsibilities have included overseeing patient care protocols, managing doctor schedules, leading monthly case reviews and meetings, participating in hiring and performance management, and ensuring the hospital’s financial and operational health. She holds a DEA license and remains current with continuing education and industry developments.
In April 2025, Dr. Rowlett joined The Welcome Waggin In Home Veterinary Care as an associate veterinarian. Recognized quickly for her leadership and dedication, she was promoted to Medical Director in September 2025. In this role, she continues to uphold and advance the standards and culture of the growing mobile veterinary practice and a brand-new state of the art veterinary hospital.
Outside of work, Dr. Rowlett is passionate about Rottweiler breed preservation and advocacy. She actively competes in AKC conformation, rally, and obedience events with her Rottweilers and is committed to breeding dogs that exemplify temperament, structure, and movement true to the breed standard. In spring 2025, she celebrated the arrival of her first litter of six puppies—each selected and raised with care to represent the best of the breed. When she’s not working or at dog trials, Dr. Rowlett enjoys spending time with her husband and three grown stepchildren.
